Project overview

For this commercial interior in Maple Ridge, BC, AMZ Installations installed T-bar ceilings with square LED frame fixtures set into the grid. The ceilings run through rooms with large windows, angled bulkheads and open circulation areas.

The space

The interior is bright and modern, with big windows, wood-look floors, structural posts and bulkheads that step the ceiling at different heights. Lighting was a design feature, not an afterthought.

The challenge

Square LED frames only look right when they sit perfectly centred in the grid and aligned from room to room. The ceiling also had to meet angled bulkheads, posts and window heads cleanly.

Our solution: T-bar with square LED lights in Maple Ridge

We laid out the grid around the lighting plan so each square LED frame lands in its intended position, centred and aligned with the others. Borders were balanced at the walls, and the grid was finished neatly against the bulkheads and window openings, giving each room a calm, orderly ceiling.

Why integrated lighting matters

When lighting and the T-bar grid are planned together, fixtures read as part of the design. The result looks custom while keeping the practical benefits of a drop ceiling: accessible services and easy maintenance.

The result

Clean, bright rooms with a ceiling that showcases the lighting design, ready for occupancy with every fixture aligned.

Frequently asked questions

Can decorative LED fixtures be installed in a T-bar ceiling?

Yes. Many fixtures are designed to sit in the grid; the key is planning the layout so they are centred and aligned.

Is a T-bar ceiling the same as a drop ceiling?

Yes. T-bar, drop and suspended ceiling all describe a metal grid that holds removable tiles.
