Project overview

AMZ Installations completed an acoustic package for an office in Langley, BC. We installed felt acoustic wall panels in the boardroom, suspended felt acoustic dividers in the open office and a long run of white wall panels along the main work area.

The space

The office combines a large open work area with workstations, a glass-fronted boardroom and support spaces. Open plans like this are flexible, but sound travels easily between desks, meeting areas and circulation routes.

The challenge

The client needed to control noise in three different situations: a boardroom with a glass wall, an open floor where teams needed separation without new walls, and long plain walls that reflected sound across the room.

Our solution: felt acoustic panels in Langley

In the boardroom, we covered the feature wall behind the credenza with dark grey felt acoustic panels. The felt absorbs sound at seated ear level, where most echo happens, and its texture adds warmth next to the glass. In the open office, tall felt dividers were suspended from the ceiling grid with cables, creating separation between work zones without building walls. Along the main wall, white panels give the space a clean, continuous finish.

Why felt works in offices

Felt acoustic panels are lightweight, durable and easy to install on walls or as hanging screens. They absorb sound across speech frequencies, which helps reduce echo in meeting rooms and background noise in open plans.

The result

The boardroom is quieter and clearer for meetings and calls, and the open office has defined zones and calmer acoustics, all with a consistent, modern look.

Frequently asked questions

Can acoustic panels hang from the ceiling as dividers?

Yes. Felt dividers can be suspended from the ceiling grid with cables to separate work areas without permanent walls.

Do acoustic panels help in an open office?

Yes. Placed where conversations concentrate, they reduce background noise and make the space more comfortable to work in.
