Project overview

AMZ Installations completed the acoustic ceiling and wall panel installation for the boardrooms and private offices at TD Wealth Center in Vancouver. The scope combined a hidden grid acoustic ceiling with wrapped fabric acoustic wall panels to create a quiet, refined corporate environment. As commercial acoustical ceiling contractors based in Mission, we work with general contractors across Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and the Lower Mainland on fit-outs where the finish has to be flawless.

The space

Boardrooms and executive offices are where clients are received and decisions are made. In these rooms, speech has to be clear on both sides of the table and on video calls, and the finish has to match the standard of a wealth management office. Hard surfaces such as glass partitions, drywall and large tables reflect sound, so without acoustic treatment voices echo and conversations carry between rooms.

The challenge

The design called for a seamless ceiling with no visible grid lines, while keeping full access to the mechanical, electrical and data services above it. A standard T-bar or drop ceiling would have left an exposed grid, which did not fit the minimal look of the space. The rooms also needed real sound control without adding visual clutter to walls and ceilings.

Our solution: hidden grid acoustic ceiling panels

We installed a hidden grid ceiling system, also called a concealed grid. Like a conventional suspended ceiling, it hangs from the structure above, but the support members sit behind the panels, so the finished surface reads as one continuous plane. The panels can still be removed for access to services above the ceiling. A concealed grid only looks right when every panel sits on the same plane, so layout, hanger spacing and level were checked across each room, and the panels were set out around lights, diffusers and sprinkler heads for clean, symmetrical lines.

Fabric-wrapped acoustic wall panels

To control reflections at ear level, we added wrapped fabric acoustic wall panels in the boardrooms. Wall panels absorb sound where it reflects most, between people seated at the table, which reduces echo and improves speech clarity in meetings and on calls. Installed with tight joints and consistent alignment, the panels read as part of the interior design rather than an add-on.

Attention to detail

In corporate interiors, the difference is in the details: straight lines, tight joints, consistent reveals and clean junctions at walls and corners. Our crew coordinated with the general contractor and the other trades on site to keep the schedule moving and deliver a finished space ready for occupancy.

The result

The boardrooms and offices now have a seamless acoustic ceiling, accessible services and controlled sound, with a modern, minimal finish that suits a premium corporate space in Vancouver.
